The Jingzhou Shi Piao is an eternal focus. Today, let's talk about this "storytelling" teapot — especially the Jingzhou Shi Piao made from Huanglongshan pear skin original green clay, with a capacity of 180cc, whether in plain or carved versions, both are extraordinarily charming.
Speaking of the clay of this teapot, it is even more remarkable. Benshan green clay, anciently known as "pear skin clay." The mineral soil is light green and layered, firing into a pear skin jelly color (beige). It is produced in the Huanglongshan rock layer coexisting with purple clay, only a few centimeters thick, located between the upper layer of purple clay and the rock slab, commonly called "dragon tendon."
Benshan green clay is also known as "clay among clays." In Yixing, people call Huanglongshan in Dingshu Benshan. Benshan green refers to the green clay produced in the Huanglongshan mining area of Dingshu.
The Jingzhou Shi Piao launched this time specially offers two versions to meet different collectors' aesthetic needs.
Plain version: wins by pure form without any decoration, fully displaying the natural texture of Benshan green clay. The warm natural texture of the clay is vividly shown in the plain version. With prolonged use, it gradually reveals its sharpness and changes greatly, making it the best material for teapot cultivation.
Carved version: the essence of this version lies in the calligraphy and painting decoration on the teapot body. The craftsman pays tribute and replicates the classic inscriptions made by the great master of the Shanghai School, Mr. Wu Hufan, for the Shi Piao teapot with exquisite carving skills. One side of the teapot is carved with plum blossoms and birds, arranged with a sense of density and rhythm, full of vitality; the other side is paired with corresponding poetry, perfectly recreating the elegant "literati teapot" style of "combining calligraphy and painting." This is not only a heritage of craftsmanship but also a crystallization of a beautiful story in the history of purple clay teapots.
Whether you prefer the minimalist style of the plain version or the culturally rich carved version, you can find your beloved choice.
In the Yixing purple clay community, there is a saying: "There is painting in the teapot, and the teapot in the painting; poetic feelings and teapot intentions reveal a faint scholarly elegance." This Benshan green clay Jingzhou Shi Piao is just like that.
It is not only a tool for brewing tea but also a piece of art and a cultural heritage. Holding it in your hand, you can feel the craftsman's ingenuity; using it to brew tea, you can savor the mellow fragrance of time.
The 180ml capacity is just right for tea tasting with three to five friends. Whether enjoying tea alone or sharing with friends, it is a great pleasure.
Brewing suggestions: Pu'er tea series, Tieguanyin and semi-fermented teas, heavily fermented teas (dark teas), lightly roasted oolong teas, green tea, Longjing, black tea, etc.
